disaster, reflection, tornado

Yesterday, a number of local residents in my small town Virgilina community suffered from a natural disaster. A tornado swept much of their landscaping, part of their homes, and much of their belongings right before their eyes. Two families who endured this inconceivable event are very close friends of mine. Thankfully, none of them were injured, having witnessed and been present during the category (2) tornado.
Until you’ve physically observed such an event or are somehow affected by it, the feeling you receive is truly chimerical. The somatic-induced time, memories, and labor lost in this particular tragedy are inestimable.
A beloved comrad of mine, in conversation and reflection, discussed how the childhood recollections of giving her mother beautiful Bradford trees for her birthday and christmas were no longer physically present, but the memories are unforgettable.
I ask each of my readers to pray for these families, the community, and anyone else who has suffered such an event. Alas, as trite as it may sound, bad things happen to good people. But in the end, God works in mysterious ways.

For the first time in my 17 years of living, today, I gave the gift of life ♥. Donating blood has always been something I’ve wanted to do; although, the age requirement has consistently imposed a hindrance on my desire up until this year. I was very optimistic about giving blood. I was nervous, but nevertheless excited to share my good health with the world. I figure that as a good steward of my country, as long as like-minded people continue to donate their haleness, the government won’t be expected to fund or regulate such endeavors.
Imagine if every person donated something that they possessed in excess. Whether it be their time, money, insight, voice, service, intellect, or in this circumstance, health. Many underestimate the power of volunteering and its advantageous effect on society at large. And truthfully, the last thing we want to hear is:
“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”
Every little bit counts, and I feel unusually humane

“… Mr. Clinton, sir, America didn’t trust you with our health-care system. America didn’t trust you with gays in the military. America doesn’t trust you with our 21-year-old daughters, and we sure, Lord, don’t trust you with our guns.”
You will be missed! Also, a special thanks to my friend Adam T. from the University of Maine for bringing my attention to such a memorable phrase coined by The Man, The Myth, and The Legend; and former NRA President. Conservatives across America will forever be indebted to your gracious dedication to preserving the right to bear arms.

Everday during my lunch break at school, I get online to check my e-mail and my favorite news source, the Drudge Report. For some odd and unapparent reason, today the website is blocked. I have visited this site EVERYDAY since I’ve lived here and it’s never been blocked before. Don’t get me wrong…I’m in favor of protecting children from pornographic sites and obscenities, but Drudge Report? You can’t be serious?
I’m furious…if anyone is feeling generous, how about texting me the latest news for the day? I wish I had an IPhone for IDrudge!!!!
