Sarah Palin fan on the Hollywood A-List?

In Grab Bags on March 30, 2009 at 6:40 pm

I’ve always loved Angie Harmon…especially on Law&Order.  She is epitome of class and elegance.  She is so amazing, but even more so because she is an unabashed Republican and speaks out against President Obama’s inane policies.  PLUS, She’s a Sarah Palin fan…oh, and she’s so gorgeous :) !

Where are the crazies when you need ‘em?

In Grab Bags on March 27, 2009 at 8:42 pm

I can’t even begin to count how many times President Bush was called a war monger, oil-hungry, murderer, and war criminal for persevering in WINNING the Iraq war and the war on terrorism.  Gratitude? Ha.

Now, months after his departure from office, Obambi has done nothing that would directly change any of G.Dub’s foreign policy initiatives.  YES-This is a mixed blessing, as he isn’t screwing us ENTIRELY-just the economy, I suppose.  Where are the Code Pink crazies that my mother used to march with?  Where is the  incessant caterwauling for him to be tried for treason?  Where are the ‘Make peace, not war’ banners?  Where are all the obnoxious protesters?  WHERE ARE THEY???????  I feel like I’m reliving the ‘Where are the Weapons of Mass Destruction’ talking point all over again?

When President Bush even spoke of increasing troop levels, which actually WON the war, liberals spit fire while accusing our soldiers of murdering civilians in cold blood.  Obambi is sending more troops into Afghanistan. Where is the contempt?

I’ll miss you, GDub!

In Grab Bags on January 16, 2009 at 6:48 am

In the most bittersweet speech of his presidency, I have to say I will miss the great president who has protected this country unwaveringly for the past 7 years.  As the days approach and Dubya leaves office, I feel a tug on my heart that the comfort and safety that I once felt, and often rested unnoticeable on my spirit will soon disappear.  God Bless you, President Bush.  Our country is eternally indebted to you for sacrificing your name for the good and protection of this great nation.

Bush did something right…

Here is a great article by Fred Barnes on Bush’s top ten accomplishments.

A quick few include:

-Refual to sign the Kyoto Protocol

-An unwavering friendship to Israel

-Not looking to federal judges to make important national security issues

-Interrogating terrorists

GDub Bids Farewell.

In Grab Bags on January 11, 2009 at 6:01 pm

Although many are counting down the days to the ever-so popular Bush’s last day in office, I’m going to miss the famous Dubya.  I’m still such a strong advocate for the idea that ten years from now when history is actually told and the media can’t constantly drill this Bush derangement syndrome into the heads of Americans, people will have an extremely different opinion on G. Walker!

In an historic interview with Brit Hume, Dubya and Bush Sr. reflected on Dubya’s two terms in office.

My favorite quote from the interview…:)

I know I gave it my all for eight years, and I did not sell my soul for the sake of popularity. And so when I get back home and look in the mirror, I will be proud of what I see.

I heart GDUB!

the world will never be the same again.  And no, I’m not a racist, so fuck off!  Haha…enough of the pessimism and the seemingly self-serving Obama bashing.  He’ll get his chance, but we all know or should understand that he inherits the best of both worlds.  If he fucks it up he can just blame President Bush like all liberals do, and if he actually does some good he’ll be immersed in accolades for eternity.

The real opinions should be adjudicated only by the men and women who are risking their everythings to protect our country and freedoms.  And, amazingly they aren’t as celebratory as the rest of the country (of course this is excluding the true patriots).  Check out this opinion poll conducted by the Military Times.

For all intensive purposes, I have taken a break from the political scene to recover from election season madness.  Also, I’ve been watching as the mass-socialistic plot  has been unveiled and is rapidly seizing our country, and I’ve concluded that there is no hope or end in sight!!!!

Who can we bail out next?  Oh, I know!  Bail out the baby killers at Planned Parenthood.  Wait, that’s not necessary…For this special Christmas season they are handing out gift certificates :) !

Here’s something to feed your minds.  Buy guns!  More guns!  and more guns!  Oh, and don’t forget the ammo too!!!!!  Stimulate the economy, while simultaneously sending Barack Obama and his anti-gun cronies into cardiac arrest.  Scare the hell out of the anti-second amendment crazies!!!!!

At the annual Al Smith Dinner both candidates spoke in front of a few hundred media elites and the likes of them.  Check it out for yourself!  This is the John McCain that everyone will cast their vote for and the man that will occupy the White House in just three short months!

By the way, I think Katie Couric has taken some fashion lessons from Sarah Palin.  Check out the signature up-do.  Maybe it’s just me, but Palin is much more beauteous.

The Song that sums up my journey over the last few weeks!

In Grab Bags on September 10, 2008 at 1:53 am
Normally, I’m not one to relate songs to my feelings and make connections to my emotions through music.  However, over this trialsome time in my life (these last 3 weeks) I needed something to recapitulate my sentiments.  Instead of taking this song at face value, I’ve searched for a deeper meaning.

Additionally, I’ve subsituted my life aspirations and most passionate goals for the guy Leona Lewis refers to in this song.

Better in Time

“It’s been the longest winter without you
I didn’t know where to turn to
See somehow I can’t forget you
After all that we’ve been through

Going coming thought I heard a knock
Who’s there no one
Thinking that I deserve it
Now I realize that I really didn’t know
If you didn’t notice you mean everything
Quickly I’m learning to love again
All I know is I’ma be ok

[Chorus:]
Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time

I couldn’t turn on the TV
Without something there to remind me
Was it all that easy
To just put aside your feelings

If I’m dreaming don’t wanna laugh
Hurt my feelings but that’s the path
I believe in
And I know that time will heal it
If you didn’t notice boy you meant everything
Quickly I’m learning to love again
All I know is I’ma be ok

[Chorus:]
Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time

Since there’s no more you and me
It’s time I let you go
So I can be free
And live my life how it should be
No matter how hard it is I’ll be fine without you
Yes I will

[Chorus: x2]
Thought I couldn’t live without you
It’s gonna hurt when it heals too
It’ll all get better in time
And even though I really love you
I’m gonna smile cause I deserve to
It’ll all get better in time”

First College English Writing Assigment

In Grab Bags, Published Works on August 26, 2008 at 8:11 pm

I was asked to write a brief response to the following statement.  Of course my definitition of brief is clearly much more conclusive than everyone else’s, so just roll with it!

The United States does not have required military service; on the other hand, many other countries across the world require at least a year’s service to the state.  Should the United States institute a similar practice? Why or why not? Use specific examples and reasons to justify your response.

The government should not mandate nor require any such service to one’s country or state.  It isn’t the government’s place to require citizens to serve their community because no where explicitly in the constitution does it specify that the government should regulate such service. Ergo, the government has no jurisdiction in such a matter.  Once the government assumes it has the authority to demand military service where does it stop?  And why should anyone fight and potentially die for a cause they don’t believe in?  Is that not a violation of an individual’s constitutional rights in terms of free cogitation, inquiry, and speech?

Military service should be something that individuals specifically seek to engage in and view as a privilege not a requisition.  Incentive is created by national pride and one’s own personal obligation to devote their time and self to the greatness of their country.  One of the biggest reasons our military is so successful and strong is because it’s strictly volunteer-based.  If one were to even contemplate stripping this imperative piece of the military away it would be detrimental to society as a whole.  I personally don’t want people fighting for me when they don’t feel fervor for the cause.

Former presidential candidate and U.S. Senator John Kerry said in 2004,

Education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.

This degrading statement, which Kerry jocularly claimed was a ‘botched joke’, inferred that those who serve in the military are somehow subservient in intellectual capacity.  Now if Kerry had any sort of understanding of statistics or the fact that almost all military servicemen and women have well over a high school diploma he may not have made such a statement, but then again his political identification has never been overly anxious to support our military.

In conclusion, a mandated military service would impose a serious detriment to our national defense system, which is exceedingly important now that we are in a time of war.  I have full faith in the volunteer-based military system we have now because it’s actually winning wars.  Whereas, when a draft was instituted (by Democrats!) we lost a war we could have won and our troops, many of whom did not feel inclined to serve were demoralized by fellow Americans.  Let Vietnam serve as the prime example as to why mandated military service is a colossal failure.

The Coultress will be MIA until roughly around August 12th, so hopefully you people in the virtual world can find something or someone to occupy your time/company until I return at which point I will frantically try to visit EVERYONE I know and pack all of my belongings so that I can move to D.C. August 20th.  This extended hiatus is not a luxurious vacation, for those of you most concerned, but strictly business.

So please understand that when you call/text/fill up my voicemail box/e-mail/etc. etc. I will not give you the attention you deserve.  And for the love of God, don’t take it personal.

I’ll be seeing ya!

Google Me!

In Grab Bags on July 22, 2008 at 10:58 pm

It has been publically brought to my attention that when my name, ‘Toni Woods’ is googled the following appears:

Toni Woods gets up to 20 years — Hott for Teacher

Mar 24, 2006 Toni Woods, the former Braxton County Middle School teacher charged with having sex with some of her students was sentenced Wednesday.
www.hottforteacher.com/toni-woods-gets-up-to-20-years/ – 30k –

In fact, out of the ten listings on the first page, only three of the headlines involve the real Toni COULTRESS Woods.  I am just beside myself in this google crisis.

My beautiful and beloved GOP Diva bestie, Queenie, has offered a legitimate suggestion to make headline news, in the quest to somehow surpass this SEX OFFENDER and take back my identity!

“Top conservative activist marries former Beauty Queen, also conservative!”

Oh the press will have a field day.  SUGGESTIONS????  HELP!

Headlines that caught my eye for the day:

In Election '08, Grab Bags on July 20, 2008 at 4:39 am

The radical feminists still haven’t obtained their aspiration for full gender equality in every sector of society, so with the help of their fellow liberal ugly-faced feminazis, they are trying to break the holy sacraments of the Catholic Church by ordaining women as priests.  Can anyone scream NOW? Lawsuit?

Despite being the most Obama adoring news anchor on evening news, Katie Couric is in it for the long haul!

And no matter how hard we try to shut this lunatic up, the Gorebot isn’t going anywhere as long as he’s given a microphone and a soundbite.  In an effort to inspire a wave of young activist bloggers to buy into his crackpot theory of global warming/climate change/climate crisis, and the usual liberal hegemony that comes with the Goracle’s malarkey, he has befriended the worst speaker in the history of Congress to play sidekick.

Now that global warming is being taught as science in every facet of society, and is the undoubtedly universal accepted theory among EVERYONE in the modern world what do they have to campaign and blog about?  Both democratscandidates running for president support his crackpot legislation, so what’s the big deal?

In Grab Bags on July 17, 2008 at 1:49 am

In a ploy to halt illegal aliens preying on jobs that supposedly “no one else will do”, which are very much suitable for welfare recipients in this country, one county in Nevada is putting their foot down and stepping up to do the job the federal government keeps failing to do: Enforcing the Law!!!!

It’s unfortunate that the Mickey D’s franchise that was sued won’t flinch an inch for the chump change they were fined for.  But, nevertheless it is a start.

Bad Things Happen to Damn Good People!

In Grab Bags on April 30, 2008 at 4:13 am

Yesterday, a number of local residents in my small town Virgilina community suffered from a natural disaster.  A tornado swept much of their landscaping, part of their homes, and much of their belongings right before their eyes.  Two families who endured this inconceivable event are very close friends of mine.  Thankfully, none of them were injured, having witnessed and been present during the category (2) tornado.

Until you’ve physically observed such an event or are somehow affected by it, the feeling you receive is truly chimerical.  The somatic-induced time, memories, and labor lost in this particular tragedy are inestimable.

A beloved comrad of mine, in conversation and reflection, discussed how the childhood recollections of giving her mother beautiful Bradford trees for her birthday and christmas were no longer physically present, but the memories are unforgettable.

I ask each of my readers to pray for these families, the community, and anyone else who has suffered such an event.  Alas, as trite as it may sound, bad things happen to good people.  But in the end, God works in mysterious ways.

Oil Shortages? That’s blasphemy!

In Grab Bags on April 22, 2008 at 3:54 pm

My dear friend Wendy, who works in the newspaper industry graciously sent me this and I thought it was blog-worthy material :)

A lot of folks can’t understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
Well, there’s a very simple answer.
Nobody bothered to check the oil.
We just didn’t know we were getting low.
The reason for that is purely geographical.
Our OIL is located in :
Alaska
California
Coastal Florida
Coastal Louisiana
Wyoming
Utah
Kansas
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
Texas
And, our dipsticks are located in DC

Any Questions? NO?…Didn’t think so.

The Gift of Life

In Grab Bags on April 8, 2008 at 10:15 pm

For the first time in my 17 years of living, today, I gave the gift of life ♥.  Donating blood has always been something I’ve wanted to do; although, the age requirement has consistently imposed a hindrance on my desire up until this year.  I was very optimistic about giving blood.  I was nervous, but nevertheless excited to share my good health with the world.  I figure that as a good steward of my country, as long as like-minded people continue to donate their haleness, the government won’t be expected to fund or regulate such endeavors.

Imagine if every person donated something that they possessed in excess.  Whether it be their time, money, insight, voice, service, intellect, or in this circumstance, health.  Many underestimate the power of volunteering and its advantageous effect on society at large.  And truthfully, the last thing we want to hear is:

“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”

Every little bit counts, and I feel unusually humane :) !
